Shopify Experts
Shopify Experts for Design, Development & Growth
FoldTech is a team of Shopify experts covering design, development, migrations, integrations, SEO and conversion work for brands building and growing on Shopify and Shopify Plus.
Shopify Experts for Every Stage of Your Store
"Shopify expert" covers a wide range of work, and most stores need more than one kind of it. A build needs design and development. A migration needs data, redirects and integration planning. Growth needs SEO, conversion work and someone maintaining the store while it happens. FoldTech brings those disciplines together so decisions in one area account for their effect on the others, rather than being handed between separate suppliers who each see a different part of the store.

How We Work as Your Shopify Experts
We start by understanding the store, the team around it and the commercial goal. That covers how the theme is built, which apps and integrations it depends on, where the current setup is holding things back, and what the business needs the store to do over the next period rather than in the abstract.
From there we agree the work and the order it should happen in, then deliver it — design, development, migration, SEO, conversion or a combination. Where a requirement is better solved by a change to process or configuration than by custom development, we will say so rather than building something that adds maintenance for no gain.

Shopify Design & Development
Stores Designed and Built by the Same Team
Design and development work best when they are not separated by a handover. Decisions about layout, merchandising and interaction affect how a theme is built, and the constraints of the platform affect what is worth designing in the first place.
FoldTech designs and develops Shopify and Shopify Plus storefronts together: custom themes, bespoke sections merchandising teams can use without a developer, and frontend built with performance, accessibility and long-term maintainability in mind.

Migrations & Integrations
Moving to Shopify and Connecting What Surrounds It
Migrations are where detail matters most. Products, variants, customers, orders, content and URL structures all have to arrive intact, with redirects mapped so existing search visibility is carried across rather than rebuilt from scratch.
Integration work continues past launch. We connect Shopify with the ERP, CRM, inventory, fulfilment and marketing systems a business already runs on, and build custom functionality where an app does not fit the requirement.

SEO & Conversion Expertise
Helping Customers Find You and Buy From You
Search visibility and conversion act on the same templates. Collection structure, product information, internal linking and page performance decide how a store is found, and the same pages decide whether visitors go on to buy.
Our SEO and CRO specialists work alongside the developers building the store, so technical foundations, content structure and conversion improvements are planned together instead of arriving as competing change requests.

Shopify Plus Experts
Expertise for More Complex Ecommerce Requirements
Shopify Plus stores tend to carry more moving parts: additional integrations, international and multi-currency requirements, B2B alongside DTC, and internal teams who need their own workflows supported.
As Shopify Plus experts we advise on platform decisions and store architecture, build the customisations those requirements need, and keep the setup practical for the people managing it day to day.

Experts Who Stay With the Store After Launch
Launch is the start of the work, not the end of it. Ranges change, campaigns need new pages, apps update, and the improvements identified during a build need someone to pick them up.
FoldTech continues as a long-term partner through maintenance, development time, conversion work and technical support, so the store keeps improving instead of slowly drifting between projects.
FAQs
Shopify Experts & Development
Search First is an ecommerce approach that makes on-site search and product discovery a central part of the customer journey, helping shoppers find relevant products faster.
Shopify site search helps customers quickly find products that match their intent, especially on stores with large catalogues, multiple categories or complex product ranges.
Shopify search optimisation improves how products are discovered through search by refining product data, query relevance, filters, synonyms, merchandising and search-result experiences.
Yes. Better search can reduce friction, help customers reach relevant products faster and support a smoother buying journey, which can contribute to stronger conversion performance.
Standard search is often treated as a simple lookup tool. A Search First strategy focuses more broadly on relevance, filters, merchandising, product discovery and how search supports the full customer journey.
Search improvements can include autocomplete, query relevance, filters, synonyms, product attributes, merchandising rules, zero-result handling and the design of search-result pages.
Product discovery is the process of helping customers find products that match their needs through search, categories, filters, recommendations and other navigation experiences.
Yes. Search First can be especially useful for large catalogues because customers need efficient ways to narrow products, compare options and reach relevant items without browsing through many categories.
Search merchandising allows ecommerce teams to influence how products appear for specific searches, helping align product discovery with customer relevance, campaigns and commercial priorities.
Yes. Filters and faceted navigation help customers narrow search results using relevant attributes such as category, size, colour, price or other product characteristics.
Search quality depends heavily on accurate product titles, descriptions, tags and attributes. Well-structured product data can make it easier for search systems to return relevant results.
Zero-result searches should be analysed for missing synonyms, product-data gaps or alternative product opportunities so customers can continue shopping rather than reaching a dead end.
Yes. Strong search and filtering can be particularly useful on mobile, where limited screen space makes efficient product discovery and navigation more important.
Yes. Search First principles can be applied to Shopify and Shopify Plus stores, with the implementation depending on catalogue complexity, integrations and business requirements.
Yes. Search-focused customer experiences can be built into Shopify Hydrogen and other headless storefronts, allowing more control over search interfaces, product discovery and frontend behaviour.
